Where do I even begin? Roc paint is one of the greatest things that I’ve ever been a part of.

           I originally applied to their season 8 program back in 2022, and although I was not selected, one of the leads reached out to me. Her name is Brittany Williams, and she ran Peculiar Asphalt, a sister program to Roc Paint. She liked my portfolio and wanted me on the team. I had an incredible summer working with Peculiar Asphalt to design and bring basketball courts to Rochester libraries and rec centers. 

           I then transferred over to Roc Paint for their 9th season, working as a youth employee to design and execute murals for more libraries and rec centers. At the end of the season, I was asked to join the adult staff as a youth educator. Over the course of season 10 and their first summer program, I worked to advise our employees and design more work. I helped design or paint over a dozen murals over the course of my time with both Roc Paint and Peculiar Asphalt, and learned so many crucial skills.
